“Don’t mix emotions with investing.“
Back Story
I started my career in investment banking, where I worked in the Technology Investment Banking groups at Bank of America and Raymond James. From there, I transitioned to investing and joined Sorenson Capital, a VC / growth equity firm with over $1.5B in AUM focused on enterprise software. I graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
On the look out for
I believe I provide an interesting perspective for our team because of my background in investment banking and venture capital. I’m able to see a company from many different angles given I’ve sat in both the investor seat and the advisor seat – I know what to look for in a good investment, but I also know strategically what a strategic/financial buyer is looking for in a target, or what it takes for a company to successfully navigate towards IPO. I’m incredibly analytical, so I do my best work when I’m digging through and crunching the numbers. I enjoy looking at deals that have a unique angle to them – there’s something incredibly satisfying about identifying value in a way others haven’t previously seen before.
